Our first interview was with Hershel West, who had a bit part as
Quint’s sidekick.

The picture below shows Hershel as of June 2000. He worked for a fish market, where we shot his interview.

Here is the full Hershel West interview:

Our second interview was with real estate agent Carol Feiner. She was an extra in the Town Hall scenes, as well as the dock scene with the tiger shark. Here, she can be seen entering the room with the others.

We didn’t have time for photos, so these video stills are all we have of Ms. Feiner. We weren't sure how these people would react to our documentary, but she put our fears at ease, and enjoyed our fascnination, and loved reminiscing about the filming.

Universal built the breakaway dock for the scene when the two fishermen try to catch the shark. We contacted the owner of the house behind the pier, and they agreed to interview with us.

Here are some more screen stills from scenes on the pier. We got the same angle at how it looks today. Also, pictured is Bruce Dickson, son of Douglas Prizer, owner of the estate. He witnessed some of the shooting, and took some pictures.

Two stills from the Orca leaving the harbor. Classic through-the-jaws shot of the Orca heading out to sea. Below, the area as it existed in Summer 2000. Quints shack was a built set piece, and torn down after filming was complete. The lot (below) has been empty ever since. Also, a bit of shameless fandom as we recreate the through-the-jaws shot.

We had some time to kill before our next interview, so we went up to the location where Brody drives to work and passes the Amity sign. This must have been filmed in the later winter, or early fall, as the grass is all brown.

For fun, yours truly decided to get in his SUV, and recreate the shot. The lighthouse hasnt changed much.

The epitome of fandom. Named Hooper Rock by many, I posed on the same rock that Richard Dreyfuss sat on, after his upheaval with Mayor Vaughn. At least it looked the same, and it was the only large rock there. But after 25 years, who knows.

Here is our Day 1 B-roll of location footage:

In the background of these movie stills, you can see 'Jaws Bridge'. Brody tells his son (the late Chris Rebello) to put his boat in the pond. Below, you can see that nothing has changed much.

The photo below of me was taken on the opposite end of the shot below (where Brody is coming from).

We walked across these rocks, and as others have pointed out, its
not as easy as it looks to run across, as Roy Scheider does here.
All the buildings, etc. like the hotdog stand were built on location.
